Kenya 2
18th November.

This is our last day in Kenya.   We have decided that we won’t come back this way because if time.   Instead we’ll go down into Rwanda and cross into Tanzania from there.   The roads south to Malawi are rubbish but it will still be quicker then going around the north of Lake Victoria.   We had an uneventful few days in transit trough Kenya.   The only memorable thing being this amazing campsite we found in Eldoret.   The bar was cut into the side of a hill and had loads of little waterfalls running through it.   It looked brilliant and was a great bar.   The only downside was the bloke who ran it.   He was a bloke in his 50s who was obviously very lonely.   He was over the moon when we arrived and basically wouldn’t leave us alone for the whole time we were there.   To the extent that he was even sitting at the bottom of our ladder when we woke up.   He was asleep and I’m not sure if that meant that he’d actually slept there all night.   As we were making our lunch he was talking away and after a while it was obvious that we were waiting for him to do one so we could eat.   However, instead of taking the hint all he said was “you may as well start eating because I’ll talk all afternoon!”   Which he did, and then all evening, and then all the next morning.   It was great campsite and we both wanted to stay for an extra night but we could face him talking to us for another day!
The other event was that I managed to catch the England SA game in bar in northern Kenya.   A right result because it was the first rugby I’ve seen since we left, although judging by the recent results I’m not sure I wanted to see it anyway!   Nothing else to report except that we’re going into Uganda tomorrow.
